Impact of Primary Hypothyroidism on Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic inflammatory disease with unknown etiology. There has been considerable debate about the relation between thyroid gland and rheumatic diseases.
 Objective: To assessed prevalence of primary hypothyroidism in patients rheumatoid arthritis, as well association severity arthritis.
 Patients Methods: This study cross-sectional observational involving 65 participants 18 years age older who were diagnosed RA. had function tests patient activity was determined using DAS28 Modified Disease Activity Score .the data analyzed chi-square significance test P-value ≤0.05. The will be collected during direct interview information from questionnaire once verbal approval received participant.
 Results: Hypothyroidism (thyroid stimulating hormone) level >4.20 µIU/L ) observed 26 (40%) parameters such DAS-28, counts tender joints significantly associated hypothyroid RA.
 Conclusion: RA, duration, BMI (Body Mass Index), ACPA (Anti Citrullinated Protein Antibody). Identification RA important.
